Just the other day I got a notification of an old post that had missed my glance, something that I like to keep appraised of. It seems that there is a quick and easy method of hacking or breaking into GSM networks.
The original idea was that GSM was too expensive to compromise, you would need to work for one these places that has these fancy Three Letter Acronyms for their names given the cost of the hardware required to do so. However in a recent Black Hat convention, one of the experts advised of a recent security issue he had uncovered, and given the fact that GSM phones are quite common world wide this does a bit of a concern.
Apparently due to a security flaw in the protocol, the service can be compromised by means of a Man in the middle attack, so states Chris Paget. To see more, check this article that recently came up on this concern:
